(...) It was a pleasure to watch Gesa Trippler in "Johann Sebastian Bach Plays Taiji". Associating Bach's music with taiji wasn't a complete surprise for me. I had seen a performance in the cathedral "St. John the Divine" in New York City, in which Huang Chung-liang, a taiji teacher and dancer, performed dancing and taiji to the sound of the organ playing Bach's toccatas and fugues. Gesas performance was much simpler and smaller in scale if compared with the grand show in "St. John's" cathedral. But in hers all was done by the same person who played both the music ("Part 7a, a-moll for solo flute "), and the taiji while the flute also joined the taiji movements thus becoming another one of the taiji weapons. The idea of the communication between taiji and music was demonstrated well.(...)
